A woman aged 43, has died in a road accident, being hit by an automobile that left the venue.
According to the traffic security inspector of the Chisinau Traffic Police, Ion Roscovanu, the accident occurred on Saturday, October 21, at 2.30pm, in Braila village from Chisinau municipality.
Elena Galat was hit by a VAZ-2106 car that had left the venue. At the same time, the Traffic Police found the car totally burn in the forest near the village. The car’s owner was identified on Sunday. He turned out to be Sergiu Roman, aged 28, resident of Băcioi village. The young man is under arrest and risks receiving a prison sentence not only for murder but also for leaving the venue and not offering help to the victim.
Nine road accidents resulted in one dead person and nine injured, were registered on Saturday and Sunday in Chisinau. Over this period of time, there were traced 52 intoxicated drivers.
