Woman drowns newborn baby, buries him

A 25-year-old woman from Stefan Voda district was sentenced to 12 years in jail for killing her newborn baby. She drowned him in a container with water and then buried him in the garden of her house, Info-Prim Neo has learned from the Prosecutor General’s Office. According to prosecutors in Stefan Voda, the woman was pregnant in the ninth month when she decided to rid herself of the child. She was helped by a woman from another village. The crime was discovered when the family doctor alerted the police that the child disappeared. The woman has two more minor children. It was established that the woman who helped her to get rid of the baby was earlier tried for illegal abortion. The Stefan Voda Prosecutor’s Office announced that both of the women got by 12 years for premeditated murder. The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
