Update (3:10pm): The police provided details about the woman who died on the R1 national road between Prepelița and Mihailovca of Sângerei this morning. According to Lilia Harea, press officer of the Sângerei Police Inspectorate, the preliminary reports that the woman was struck by a car weren’t confirmed. The medical examination showed the woman died from the cardiovascular diseases and cirrhosis from which she suffered.

A 51-year-old woman from Bănești village of Telenești district died in a road accident on the R1 national road between Prepelița and Mihailovca villages of Sângerei district in the morning of October 26.
Asked by IPN to give details, Lilia Harea, press officer of the Sângerei Police Inspectorate, said the woman was found by a passerby who called the emergency services. She died before an ambulance arrived. The police determined preliminarily that the woman was injured in a hit-and-run accident.
