Woman deceased in a massive fire on Ismail Street this morning

A massive fire that killed a woman and damaged several flats unleashed this morning on Ismail Street from Chisinau. The firemen fought the flames several hours in a row, and at 15:00 the 5 firemen crews were still at the fire site. According to the Department of Exceptional Situations, the fire started at 9:08 in apartment number 44, a two room flat on the 14th floor of the house number 98 on Ismail Street. According to the cited source, the firemen have reacted quickly and managed to save a disabled woman. On the stairs, the firemen have found the body of a 58 year old woman that chocked with gas and smoke. Doctor coordinator of the Emergency Service, Anatol Proca, told Info-Prim Neo that medical intervention was required from the disabled women and another 5 persons, that suffered from arterial hypertension, stress and heart aches The deceased woman was the owner of the flat, and the disabled lady was her sister that was in Chisinau to recover from a head stroke. The victim worked in the market from Cantemir Boulevard, just near the house, from where she saw the smoke coming out the window of her apartment. When she opened the door, the fire burst with new force and the woman was unable to avoid the thick smoke and gas. The firemen found her near the sewerage pipe. The fire damaged 4 apartments. The financial damage done is yet to be established.
