Also in critical condition a 32-year-old male pedestrian was admitted to the same hospital after he was struck by a Lada car in the intersection of the streets Maria Dragand and Vadul lui Voda. The injuries sustained range from head concussion to open fractures of both shanks. Two men, ages 44 and 46, died from excessive consumption of alcohol, and two other nameless men were found on the streets with acute alcoholic intoxications. A young woman, 22, was admitted to St. Trinity Hospital after she complained of pains characteristic of mushroom poisoning. She told doctors she had a mushroom soup at Andy's Pizza. On Monday and over the past night the Chisinau Emergency Service recorded 721 calls, including 56 cases of acute viroses, 27 cases of acute diarrheal diseases, 56 cases of trauma, 21 childbirths and 2 brain strokes.
