The experts of WizzAir ended their working visit to Moldova. The low-cost airline will soon announce whether it comes to Moldova to operate flights or nor, Info-Prim Neo reports. Representatives of WizzAir paid a number of working visits at the airports in Chisinau, Balti, Cahul and Marculesti, where they had meetings and consultations with the administration. The delegation of WizzAir headed by Nicolas Vareilles, development manager of the company’s programming network, said the Chisinau international airport meets all the conditions for operating flights by Airbus 320 planes. The airports in Balti and Marculesti also have the infrastructure needed to transport passengers. In this connection, Valentin Dogotari, head of the Air Transport Service of the Ministry of Transport of Road Infrastructure, said that WizzAir demands that the airport taxes be considerably decreased, but the Chisinau airport cannot afford this. He also said that Airbus 320 planes have never taken off from the country’s airport and the infrastructure for them should be improved. The Ministry of Transport of Road Infrastructure after 2010 invited a number of international low-cost airlines to Moldova. WizzAir accepted the invitation last spring. The Romanian low-cost airline BlueAir also expressed interest in the offer. The company’s administration made a series of unofficial visits to Moldova and had meetings with managers of the Chisinau International Airport and the State Civil Aviation Administration.
