From October this year, Wizz Air will expand its operations in Chisinau, allocating the third aircraft and launching six direct routes. At the same time, the expansion will bring increased frequencies on the existing Paris and Berlin routes, as well as new employment opportunities for pilots and cabin crew members, IPN reports.

The airline will extend the schedule of direct flights from Chisinau with the following destinations: Milan Bergamo and Bari in Italy, Athens in Greece, Billund in Denmark, Maastricht in the Netherlands and Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden in Germany.

According to the representatives of the company, Maastricht is a special destination that will be served exclusively from Chisinau in the Wizz Air network.

"These routes not only bring new travel opportunities, but also create new jobs at the air base. We are looking for flight attendants and pilots. It will have a positive impact on the economy and tourism," Andras Rado, head of Wizz Air's Communications and Government Affairs Department, told a press conference.

"Lately, due to the joint effort, we have developed the flight network so that our passengers benefit from more accessible and timely destinations," said Sergiu Spoiala, director of the Chisinau International Airport.

Currently, Wizz Air operates 21 routes from Chisinau. With the new additions, the network will include 27 destinations to 15 countries.
