The Hungarian airline Wizz Air returns to Moldova in December and will operate such flights as Chisinau - Rome, Chisinau - Milan, and Chisinau-London, IPN reports.

Prime Minister Dorin Recean said the return of Wizz Air to Moldova is the result of the constant efforts made by the Moldovan authorities to ensure new international connections for the Moldovan citizens and to stimulate economic development.

“The Republic of Moldova is a safe and attractive destination. New airlines started to operate flights from the Chisinau International Airport, to Tel-Aviv, Athens and Baku, the past two months alone. Also, the companies that already work on the Moldovan air market supplemented the flights and offer more advantageous prices to passengers,” started the official.

In March 2023, Wizz Air suspended all the flights operated from the Chisinau International Airport, invoking airspace security reasons. As a result, the number of Moldovans who choose to fly from Iasi grew by 30%.
