Without foreign investment and without a favorable investment climate, the Republic of Moldova will not be able to take a qualitative jump to modernization and to create jobs for its citizens, Prime Minister Pavel Filip stated in a roundtable meeting staged in Washington by the Executive Vice President of the Atlantic Council Damon Wilson, IPN has learned from the Government’s press service.
The Premier spoke about the progress made by the official Chisinau in rehabilitating the financial-banking system and in enhancing the competitiveness of the key sectors of the economy, including thanks to the assistance of the U.S. Pavel Filip also underlined the importance of strengthening the Moldovan-American cooperation in promoting regional and global stability.
Given the current security challenges, Damon Wilson said the U.S. will further support Moldova in its efforts to counteract foreign interference and will contribute to accelerating the democratic transformations in the country.
The roundtable meeting brought together experts of the U.S. Department of State and Department of Defense and representatives of the United State Institute of Peace and the United State Agency for International Development. leap
