Winners of National Youth Awards announced

The young people and institutions with the biggest accomplishments in the field of youth were awarded in the National Youth Awards Gala 2016. Six young people won trophies in the cultural-artistic, technical-scientific and civic activism categories. There were also awarded the best youth specialists and two institutions working in the field, IPN reports.

Attending the event, Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu told those attending that they are at the most beautiful age, which is the age of challenges and attempts. “We are aware that a lot of young people are disappointed and plan to leave the country. There are young people who contribute to the development of the Republic of Moldova. There are many problems, but I’m optimistic that we can solve them,” he stated.

The winners in the three categories received by a trophy, a diploma and 12,000 lei. In the technical-scientific category, Elena Jardan was awarded for reducing the associated risk to health by estimating chemical substances in environment factors and human body. Ivan Duminica was praised for studying the history of Bulgarians in Moldova. Students Crina Popescu and Vasile Gribincea were awarded for contributing to the promotion of national culture, while Liviu Rotaru and Ana Andonitu for developed civic activism.

The Chisinau Municipal Youth Council was named best Local Youth Council, while the Orhei Youth Center became the Youth Center of 2016. These received by 15,000 lei and 20,000 respectively.
