The Chisinau General Division of Education, Youth and Sport designated the winners of the national creation contest “Letter to Mother”. Twelve sixth-twelfth graders became laureates of the contest, which is designed to discover young talents and to sensitize society, IPN reports, quoting a communique of the Division.
The contest involved about 2,000 students, approximately 1,600 of whom competed in the Romanian language category, which about 400 – in the Russian language category. The prize for the first place was 2,000 lei, for the second – 1,500 lei, while for the third – 1,000 lei.
Besides the main prizes, 150 students received secondary awards. The letters of the participants were assessed by two commissions – one for the Romanian language and another one for the Russian language. These consisted of university professors, academicians, journalists, writers and scientific researchers.
The third contest “Letter to Mother” was organized by the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport, the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, the Platform “Socrate” and the Languages Faculty of the State University of Moldova with support from the commercial bank “Moldova Agroindbank”.
