Four days remained until the New Year’s Day, but the local authorities cannot yet say if the traditional New Year’s concert be held in the central square of Chisinau or not.
Contacted by IPN, head of the municipal Culture Division Lucia Culev said the Chisinau City Hall usually does not organize the New Year’s concert and financial resources for the purpose haven’t been allocated this year. The municipality staged two series of Christmas carol performances near the Christmas tree on the Great National Assembly Square on December 24 and 25 and no other activities were planned.
The press service of the Ministry of Culture directed IPN’s reporter to the Government’s communication office, which hasn’t yet given an answer.
