A free Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) based Internet service will be launched in the Stephan the Great Public Garden on Europe Day. The announcement was made by Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca at Monday’s meeting of the City Hall, Info-Prim Neo reports. Dorin Chirtoaca said that all the Internet users will have free Internet access under a partnership between the Chisinau City Hall and an Internet service provider. “This way, the people will be able to talk about the events that took place in Chisinau and not only,” Chirtoaca said, referring to the April 7 violent protests. A number of Moldovan websites that broadcast live the events happening in downtown Chisinau had been blocked then. According to the mayor, the Wi-Fi system could be extended to other areas of Chisinau.
