In the November 1 presidential elections, first round of voting, 17% of the Moldovans would vote for Igor Dodon, 14.9% for Maia Sandu, while 5.2 for Ilan Shor, shows the August edition of the sociopolitical survey and Electoral Barometer 2020 conducted by Date Inteligente (iDATA), IPN reports.
According to the study, the 22 surveyed experts said that if the electoral contenders weren’t politicians, but public figures, they would vote for such persons as Kiril Gaburici, Igor Cuciuc, Eugen Doga and others as President.
Asked what monthly income the President should have, those polled said the President’s average salary should be of 18,720 lei. 41.3% of the respondents consider the President’s income should be less than 10,000 lei, while 18.1% said between 10,000 and 15,000 lei.
Asked about the probability of the Moldovans mounting protests similar to those in Belarus after the president elections, against alleged vote rigging, 40.9% of those polled said this probability is high. 27.3% consider the political situation in Moldova is completely different from that in Belarus.
The survey consisted in the collection of 1,177 questionnaires through the face to face method. It was carried out between August 20 and September 3, 2020 in 77 villages and towns.
