Marin Robu finished seventh at the European Weightlifting Championships that are held in Georgia’s Btumi, IPN reports.
In the 73 kg weight class, he achieved the result of 148 kg in snatch, which is a new European record among juniors. Bulgaria’s Bozhidar Andreev became European champion with the total result of 345 kg. Albania’s Briken Calja and Vadzim Likharad of Belarus also climbed onto the winner’s rostrum.
In the 55 kg class, Daniel Lungu ranked seventh by the total result. Moldova’s Tudor Ciobanu (89 kg) and Elena Kylchik (81 kg) are yet to compete at the European Weightlifting Championships in Georgia.
