France will continue to support the Republic of Moldova, including on its path to the European Union, on the path of prosperity. This is a challenging mission, but Moldova can count on the support of its partners, Minister of Foreign Affairs of France Stéphane Séjourné stated at the Moldova Partnership Platform in Chisinau, IPN reports.
Stéphane Séjourné noted that the format of the event is one of support for the Republic of Moldova, for its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.
“We agreed last year to secure the borders and develop this Platform to support the Republic of Moldova so as to take into account those objectives that were set, the long-term development of the country, taking into account the EU candidate status. The Republic of Moldova is firmly committed to this path of development,” noted the French minister.
According to him, today’s event is of historical importance and the participants express support for the authorities of the Republic of Moldova, in the currently difficult geopolitical and security contexts.
“We stand by you. This accession path will require you to pursue these efforts with determination in order to implement complex reforms. These unprecedented efforts must be continued because Russia’s war against Ukraine brings a lot of suffering to the Ukrainian people and has a negative impact on Europe’s economic development and security,” said Stéphane Séjourné.
The official also said that the already launched reforms will help the Republic of Moldova to join the European Union. “We will continue to provide assistance to Moldova. We, those of the Platform. This is important for stimulating the economy, reviving the infrastructure, the reform process. We will help the Republic of Moldova to become a European state,” stated the French official.
The fifth edition of the Moldova Partnership Platform, initiated by Romania, Germany and France, is taking place in Chisinau.
