The events witnessed today in Parliament are a shameful gesture of the government, which can be described as hypocritical and irresponsible. By such actions, they undermine democracy and, together with it, weaken the country and all this happens amid a pandemic, MPs of the PPPDA and PAS stated after the Parliament sitting could not be held because a quorum was not present, IPN reports.
The head of the PPPDA parliamentary group Alexandru Slusari said that they acted this way because of fear and the craven government assumes shame in a situation of pandemic, in a crisis situation. “This government assumed shame for Igor Dodon, for this political gang that manages the country,” stated the MP.
According to Alexandru Slusari, this is alarming and dangerous. “Even so, no one from the opposition intends to submit a no-confidence motion in times of a pandemic crisis because the opposition is much more responsible than this government,” he stated.
The head of the PAS group Igor Grosu said today’s gesture is equal to irresponsibly. When he asked Socialist mates why they didn’t come to the sitting, these said that the decision was taken by their parliamentary group. “They confirmed once again our fears that it is very dangerous in a crisis situation to leave the country in the hands of such a government that does things that cannot be said to be decided by a healthy mind,” noted the MP.
The April 2 sitting of Parliament, where the Government was to present the bill for which it assumed responsibility, didn’t have a quorum. The Socialist and Democratic MPs didn’t appear at the sitting. After the Parliament’s Secretariat announced that only 39 MPs were present, Speaker Zinaida Grechanyi said the sitting cannot be opened because a quorum is not present.
