SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” called on the managers of the housing sector and consumers to take measures to protect the water meters and mains from frost given that the temperatures have declined and ground frost was forecast for this weekend and next week, IPN reports.
In a press release, the company says the regulations concerning the organization and functioning of public water supply and sewerage services in Chisinau municipality provide that the boundary delimiting the networks in the housing sector for water pipes is the external wall of the apartment building, while for sewer pipe is the nearest manhole.
The consumers, in concert with housing sector managers, are obliged to take all the measures to ensure the protection and cleanness of the places housing water meters and to thermally insulate the internal water supply and sewer pipes.
If not all the required conditions are respected, the responsibility for the halt in the water supply and sewerage services following the freezing of meters is borne by the persons in charge.
