One year after implementing the integrated management system, the Chisinau water supplier Apa-Canal Chisinau (ACC) has the certificates of the International Standardization Organization: ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004, and the OHSAS 18001:2007 certificates. The announcement was made on Monday by the ACC manager, Constantin Becciev. According to the company's leadership, this is goinng to better the quality of the provided services, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Constatnitn Becciev has stated his company has had to learn a lot during one year. “We'll have to work even more to attain the expected results,” he said.
Elena Mesca, the employee of an auditing company says two week ago a team of Romanian auditors came to ACC to establish whether steps have been taken during one year to implement the system of integrated management. “The ACC employees have shown much responsibility,” the Romanian expert has underlined, saying all the objectives have been attained by the company.
Gelu Mujea, the general director of Apa Canal 2000 from Pitesti, which assisted ACC in implementing the management system, has said the certificates will give the company competitiveness recognized nationally and internationally, more trust on behalf of partners, creating a better image in the business environment and preventing accidents influencing the environment.
According to him, ACC will be able to easier attract grants and investment loans.
The program of implementing the integrated management system provides for training specialists and accrediting labs monitoring the quality of water.
ACC wants to implement more pilot-project in the coking period. One of them provides to replace the chlorine used to disinfect the water with twinoxide of chlorine. If the tests prove the new disinfectant acts well, it will start to be used till the end of the year.
Another project deals with stopping the odor eliminated by the water-cleaning station. The counterparts from Pitesti promise to deal with the matter, as some 50,000 are needed as a first step. But Gelu Mujea says it is necessary that the Municipal Council make a political decision in this respect. In half a year the scent may be stopped, as the investment may be recuperated in some 5-6 years.
ACC has implemented the integrated management system “Quality – Environment - Health – Job Security” during one year.
