The patrolling police issued warnings intended for motorists and pedestrians in connection with the expected decrease in temperatures. The drivers are urged to equip the units of transport with winter tires and antiskid chains and to carry a bag with sand and a shovel in the trunk, IPN reports.

The National Patrolling Inspectorate recommends the drivers to keep a safe distance between vehicles when travelling and not to brake suddenly. Driving cars that do not have winter tires is banned. It is also recommended using snow chains.

The participants in traffic are warned that most of the accidents, including those that involve pedestrians, happen when visibility is poor and there is precipitation. To avoid situations of risk, the pedestrians are urged not to jaywalk, to wait for public transport in stations and to walk along sidewalks.

According to the State Hydrometeorology Service, the weather will grow much colder the coming days. There will be sleet and snow. The northeastern wind is expected to intensify, while the atmospheric pressure will be high.
