The Civil Protection and Emergencies Service will check the automated centralized warning system on June 23. The sirens will start to wail at 2pm, IPN reports.
The Emergencies Service and the local public authorities warn that the street sirens will work for up to three minutes.
When hearing the sirens, the people musty behave calmly. The institution managers and decision makers of the local public authorities are asked to make sure there is calmness at the local level and the work goes on.
The automated centralized warning system warns the population about possible radioactive or chemical accidents and natural disasters. The testing is aimed at checking the system’s functionality.
There are 270 sirens in the country, 115 of which are located in Chisinau.
