The Confederation of War Veterans of Moldova, together with other organizations of veterans, called on the people of Moldova to vote for the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) on November 30. They said the PLDM is the only party that took concrete measures for Moldova to follow the path to the EU, which means a developed economy, a modern country and decent living conditions.
In a news conference at IPN, reserve colonel Alexandru Gorgan noted that these elections are decisive for Moldova. Now the whole society must join efforts and vote for Moldova’s European future in the November 30 elections. “It is important not to lose this historical chance that is offered to us,” he said.
The veterans mentioned a series of important actions taken by the Filat and Leanca Governments: the institution of the Memory Day and the Remembrance Day for Those Killed in the Afghan War; the institution of the medal “Commemorative Cross” that was conferred on about 26,000 veterans; the doubling of the monthly allowance for the parents of those killed in battle up to 500 lei. “These are only several examples to show that when there is a political force like the PLDM, there is cooperation, good results and a safe future,” stated Alexandru Gorgan.
Reserve police major Constantin Covrig, who heads the Confederation of War Veterans of Moldova, said the people must not be misled by the pseudo-patriots who did nothing for Moldova. “Don’t yield up to misinformation because these are false calls, against our people. We lived yesterday and no longer want to live so. We want a better future for our children, alongside a powerful party, such as the PLDM,” he stated.
