Wages want up 143% in constructions, 3% in education

In January 2007, the average monthly wage of a national economy employee (working in companies with 20 employees and more) stood at MDL 1780, a 25% increase (11% in real terms) compared with the similar period of previous year. The average wage in the state sector made up MDL 1402, and in the private sector MDL 2003.
In education, the average wage constituted MDL 1113, by 3% higher, while in healthcare it amounted to MDL 1307, by 17% more.
The highest wages are received by employees in the financial-banking sector – MDL 4562, by 25.6% higher. Also, higher wages were paid in the energy field – MDL 3079, by 15.6% more.
In constructions, the average wage constituted MDL 2493 (143.4%), in retail and wholesale trade – MDL 1644 (128.7%), in the hotel industry and restaurants – MDL 2680 (126.4%); real estate transactions – MDL 2093 (127.3%); public administration – MDL 2238 (159.8%); industry – MDL 2257 (120.7%); mining industry – MDL 2333 (148.5%).
In agriculture, hunting and forestry, the average wage constituted MDL 839, by 33.6% more compared with the similar period of previous year. In the fish breeding sector the average wage amounted to MDL 2089 (126.8%); beverage industry – MDL 1644 (108.9%).
