Vulnerable schoolchildren in Chisinau to receive 600 lei for school supplies

Municipal authorities will offer a lump-sum aid of 600 lei to about 7,700 children from low-income families in Chisinau to help them buy school supplies. Chisinau's education chief Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb told Info-Prim Neo that the aid will be offered specifically to 1st through 9th graders who are orphan, disabled or live in poor families. Recipient lists were compiled by each school and already approved by teaching councils. Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb said the beneficiaries' parents can collect the money at any Banca de Economii branch, producing their ID cards. Around 40,000 children are enrolled in gymnasium-level education in Chisinau.
