Vulnerable children attend festival spurring talents, communication

The first festival of gifted children and children-protecting organizations titled “With Small Steps toward the Future” takes place on Saturday in Chisinau. The event join beneficiaries of 17 NGOs, including associations specialized in countering traffic in human beings, Info-Prim Neo reports. Ginta Latina theater – the host – has offered its stage to songs, dances and plays performed by children from the entire country. The theater also houses a handicraft expo with objects prepared by children, etc. A surprise was there for the kids at opening the festival. Each of them got a notebook with the goals of the festival written on it. It's actually a passport where they can make every kind of notes. Deputy Social Protection Minister Lucia Gavrilita says the festival “wants to highlight everybody is unique and has something from God, that he/she must use.” These are socially vulnerable children, orphans or kids left my parents migrating for work. The festival pursues to make society aware of the destiny of these children, by offering a stage to display their talents, encouraging them to develop and to integrate socially, organizers say. The event is organized by the Social Protection Ministry with the support of a number of international and national NGOs dealing with children issues.
