The polling station in Tokyo, Japan, where 30 voters cast their ballots was closed. The polling station in China was also recently closed, while the polling stations on the Eastern coast of the U.S. were opened without impediments, IPN reports.
The CEC warned that some of the out-of-country polling stations are running out of ballots (5,000 allowed by law for a station). As the ballots are marked according to the number of the polling station, it is not possible to transfer these from one polling station to another. The voters are urged to visit the website Diaspora Votează so as to see where there is the closest polling station where ballots are available.
Crowdedness has been reported at polling stations in Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Romania, Russia, Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands, Turkey, the UK and Israel.
