Voters from Ceadar-Lunga not too interested to elect an MP in Gagauz Yeri's parliament

In the partial parliamentary election on Sunday, November 23, in the Gagauz autonomy, only 27% of voters went to poll in Ceadar-Lunga town. This means a repeated election will be held in this town on December 7, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from Valentina Lisnik, the chairwoman of the Central Electoral Commission from Comrat. In ordre to validate the elections, at least 1/3 of registered voters must turn up. The citizens of Comrat elected Ivan Mardari for a seat in the People's Assembly. He is one of the three independent candidates disputing the place. 63.3% voters gave their ballot to him. Gheorghii Kopusciulu won in Vulcanesti town, gathering 70.5% of the ballots. The turnup was 36.24%. Gheorghii Kopusciulu ran on the part of the social-political movement Ravnopravie. The elections were organized after three of those 35 MPs of the regional parliament gave up their seats. One of them, Nikolai Dudoglo, is the mayor of Comrat. Gagauzia is the only territorial-administrative unit from Moldova where the MPs are voted nominally, although they can run from political parties.
