Voter turnout in Chisinau elections was 10.1% at 11:30

Almost 60 thousand Chisinau residents took part in the elections by 11:30 am, which is 10.1% of the total registered voters. Chairman of the Chisinau District Election Council Ion Cretu told Info-Prim Neo that the highest turnout was registered in the suburbs – 12.2%, followed by Centru district – with 10.6%, Rascani and Ciocana districts – 9.8%, Botanica – with 9.3%, and Buiucani – with 8.8%. On June 3, a voter turnout of slightly above 13% was registered by 12:30. By the same hour, 18% of voters took part in the 2003 local elections. In the new elections held in July and November 2005, 9.5% and 6.5% of voters respectively participated by 12:30.
