More than 24% of the persons written on the voter rolls cast their ballots by 1pm, as opposed to 28% on June 14. The persons older than 50 are the most active voters. The voter turnout in Chisinau at 1pm was 22%, as against over 21% in the first round of elections, IPN reports.
The president of the Central Election Commission Iurie Ciocan said the voter turnout in Soldanesti district continues to be the highest. The lowest turnout was recorded in Cahul. In Sipca village of Soldanesti district, 34% of the eligible voters made their choice, while in Parata, Dubasari the voter turnout was only about 6%.
52% of those who cast their ballots are men. About 6% of the voters aged between 18 and 25 marked their ballots. The figures for the other age categories are as follows: between 26 and 30 – 6.6%, between 31 and 40 – 13.6%, between 41 and 50 – 15.3%, between 51 and 60 – 24%, between 61 and 70 - 21%, and older than 70 - 12%.
Small incidents were reported in practically all the constituencies, but these cannot affect the voting process.
