The voter turnout and the preliminary results of the parliamentary elections on February 24will be made available on the website of the Central Election Commission through the agency of an application, IPN reports.

The CEC said that for security reasons the link to the application will be announced and activated in the morning of the election day.

On the election day, the Commission plans to stage four press briefings where CEC members will present information of public interest. The preliminary election outcome will be made public in a press briefing on February 25.

Parliamentary elections will held in Moldova on February 24 based on the mixed electoral system under which 50 MPs are elected in the national constituency and 51 MPs according to party lists in single-member constituencies. A national consultative referendum will be held the same day. The people who will take part in this will be asked if they want the number of MPs to be reduced from 101 to 61 and if they want the MPs who do not fulfil their duties appropriately to be recalled.
