The Communists Party (PCRM) says that the recount of the votes cast in the November 28 elections failed as the process was frustrated, Info-Prim Neo reports. The PCRM’s jurist Sergiu Sarbu stated that the electoral bodies banned the representatives and observers of the PCRM from verifying the main and additional voter lists. The access of the party’s representatives to the vote recounting process was blocked in Cimislia and Orhei districts. Sergiu Sarbu said that Petru Stirbate (PLDM candidate who the PCRM claims had voted at several polling places) went to all the polling places in Orhei district on Wednesday and ordered that access to the electoral rolls be banned. According to the PCRM’s jurist, the sacks with ballots had been unsealed before representatives of the Communist arrived, while the vote recount started with significant delays in some of the districts. “The sacks were brought at the electoral bureau at 9am or 10am, but the members of the bureaus were invited to come at 2pm to start recounting the votes,” said Sarbu. The representatives of the PCRM also said that the pack with ballots in favor of the Communists Party disappeared in Gratiesti village of Chisinau municipality. According to them, it was found several hours later in Chisinau’s Ciocana district. “We convinced ourselves again today that the Liberal-Democratic regime cannot ensure democratic elections. We are sure that the Central Election Commission was an accomplice in falsifying the results of the November 28 early legislative elections,” said Communist MP Grigore Petrenco. The Central Election Commission will announce the results of the vote recount on Friday, December 17.
