The vote for Constantin Codreanu, who is the candidate for mayor of Chisinau of the National Unity Party, means a vote for a better future for Chisinau and for the rapprochement with the European Union and Romania. Besides a better life for the city, the very clear political message about Moldova’s future is also important, especially in the context of the upcoming parliamentary elections, said Romanian MP Eugen Tomac, executive president of the People’s Movement Party of Romania.
In a news conference at IPN, the Romanian MP said that in any political struggle in Chisinau, he stated his viewpoint and his unconditional support for Dorin Chirtoaca. Unfortunately, Chirtoaca could not complete his duties, being abusively removed from the post of mayor general by an oppressive system. “I come today before the Romanians in the Republic of Moldova, who live in Chisinau and in the suburbs, and ask them with the same seriousness and responsibility to become involved on May 20 and to vote candidate Constantin Codreanu with the same conviction as during the previous years,” noted Eugen Tomac.
According to him, Constantin Codreanu is one of the most valuable young people in Moldova at present. “The Republic of Moldova needs benchmarks and people who would move things on. Namely for this reason, I’m near Constantin Codreanu and appreciate a lot his decision to leave the comfort in Bucharest and to return here, to the streets of Chisinau,” stated the Romanian MP.
Eugen Tomac said that together with Constantin Codreanu, he promotes the only realistic solution for Moldova’s future – the objective of Moldova’s union with Romania. “There is no other solution for a safer future for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova. Romania is the European Union of which the citizens of Chisinau municipality dream. No citizen of the Republic of Moldova can obtain a safer future for a better living if the politicians do not understand that the union with Romania is the safest and shortest way,” he stated.
The Romanian MP also said there are many candidates running in the May 20 mayoral elections who entered the race to promote different political whims or interests of economic or political groups. He called on the other candidates who claim they know how things stand to take wise decisions and to withdraw from the race as Constantin Codreanu is the only candidate who can beat the representative of Plahotniuc or the representative of Dodon.
