Voronin thanks outgoing Cabinet members

Vladimir Voronin has met with the the outgoing ministers and thanked them for their work as part of the Greceanyi Cabinet. He stressed that the creation of a united team of professionals was one of the greatest accomplishments of the present Government, it is said in a communique, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The head of state said that despite the world economic crisis, the Government leaves its successors no huge debts, large foreign exchange reserves and national development plans in all the areas of activity. The president stated that all the members of the governmental team will have the positivity of contributing in the future to the people’s welfare and of participating in building a modern, successful, European country, the communique says. Earlier today, Vladimir Voronin informed the Parliament about his decision to resign as President of Moldova. The official announcement was preceded by a speech addressed to the people, in which Vladimir Voronin thanked them for support and promised he would yet return to power.
