The chairman of the Party of Communists (PCRM) Vladimir Voronin said the Communist parliamentary group will not vote Iurie Leanca Prime Minister. He considers that another candidate for premiership should be identified. The Communist leader made such statements in a break of the January 28 sitting of Parliament, IPN reports.
Vladimir Voronin noted that the Liberal Democratic Party, which holds the post of Premier according to the agreement on the formation of the Political Alliance for the European Moldova, must identify another candidate, as the PCRM did earlier when it proposed Vasile Tarlev for this post, even if he wasn’t a member of the party. An apolitical person from the business sector should be fielded for this post.
On January 27, President Nicolae Timofti held consultations with the parliamentary groups in a move to designate a candidate for premiership. Only the Lib-Dems nominated Iurie Leanca. The other factions didn’t put forward candidates.
