After the Vilnius Eastern Partnership Summit, where Moldova is to initial the Association Agreement with the EU, the country will become economically and politically dependent on the European Union, the leader of the Communist Party Vladimir Voronin said in a news conference, quoted by IPN.
“We now face not a crisis of the choice between Europe and Russia, but a crisis of the relationship between the majority of the population and the antidemocratic and thieving government regime. The so-called European choice to which the government refers does not mean that Moldova has chances to become an EU member. The competent analysts and commentators know very well that the Eastern Partnership does not envision such an ending to the relationship between Moldova and the EU. Instead, it envisions the economic and political dependence on the EU,” said Vladimir Voronin.
He also said that those who insist that the Vilnius Summit is a bright prospect lie. “The accession to the EU means obligations without freedoms, a divided country ruled by bandits and oligarchs. The PCRM considers that the Vilnius Summit and everything that is related to this event represent nothing else but EU support for an antidemocratic regime,” stated the Communist leader.
Vladimir Voronin said the PCRM gave a vote of no confidence to the Government. “On November 7, we issued an ultimatum by which we asked that the government should resign. The deadline expired on November 21. On November 22, a delegation formed of local elected officials of all the levels was ready to present their arguments over the crisis to the Premier and the President, but the delegation was received by none of them. On November 23, the authorities missed possibly the last chance to explain their actions to the people,” he stated.
He called on the leaders of the PLDM and PDM to take decisions and announce early parliamentary elections.
