Vocational school accountant accused of stealing student scholarships

The chief accountant of a Chisinau vocational school is accused of appropriating the money designed for paying scholarships to students, the press service of the General Prosecutor’s Office has said in a communiqué, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The woman is suspected of misappropriating property by misusing her authority. She forged students’ signatures in the scholarship lists, causing damage of 4,800 lei, the communiqué says. The suspect is liable to a fine of 500 to 1,000 conventional units or imprisonment of 4 to 7 years.
