The judge of the Chisinau Appeals Court Vladislav Clima was named president of this Court in the July 28 meeting of the Superior Council of Magistracy. After the appointment, PAS leader Maia Sandu reacted, saying that Dodon “cleans up” the justice system, promoting “Plahotniuc’s servants” to responsible posts, IPN reports.
“During four years Igor Dodon, on Plahotniuc’s instruction, named a lot of corrupt people as judges. And now he promotes the same people,” the politician posted on Facebook.
“Judge Clima, one of those who upheld the decision to invalidate the elections in the municipality of Chisinau (of 2018, when Andrei Năstase emerged victorious, e.n.), was today proposed by the SCM for president of the Chisinau Appeals Court. Does someone have doubts that the annulment of the elections in Chisinau was a common plot of Plahotniuc and Dodon?” asked rhetorically the PAS leader.
Vladislav Clima started to work as a judge in 2006, at the Ciocana Court of Chisinau. In 2009, he was named vice president of this Court. In February 2017, he was appointed judge of the Chisinau Appeals Court. At the end of this January, the SCM opposed the appointment of judge Vladislav Clima and decided to put off the submission of Clima’s file to the two expert colleges for examination. The then acting president of the SCM Dorel Musteață said there were objections to the work of judge Clima because of a number of court judgments that he passed.
