The leader of the Party of Communists Vladimir Voronin said they will insist on the dismissal of some of the ministers, but particular personages from the PDM and PLDM should not hinder Premier Gaburici from working. He made such statements in the talk show “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1, IPN reports.
Voronin said it is the opposition’s duty to intervene when the members of the Government do not do their job. “We opposed the naming of four ministers from the very beginning. What did Maia Sandu do? She discredits the teachers, education institutions and school directors. How can she oblige the school directors to take exams at a time when these have a length of service of 20 years and turned 60 already? On the pretext of doing reforms, Maia Sandu does foolish things,” he stated.
The Communist leader noted that the Communists do not form part of the government. “A number of people, including from our team, consider that we form part of the government. We simply helped break the deadlock, but we took a risky step when we assumed responsibility and voted for the Government,” he said.
Vladimir Voronin also said that he supports the measures taken to stop foreign propaganda, but criticized the restrictions envisioned for TV journalists. “Instead of focusing on the external problems faced by the country, we have to listen to pieces of advice on TV channels. This bill shouldn’t have been drafted so swiftly y and with so many restrictions for journalists. It’s awful. Four pages of this bill contain only restrictions. We must yet find a mechanism to make sure that we can watch different TV channels, by excluding propaganda. We should not separate ourselves from the whole world and be unaware of what’s going on in Russia or elsewhere,” he stated.
