Vladimir Voronin to be questioned in Ciocarliei St case

Former President of Moldova Vladimir Voronin will be quizzed as a witness in the Ciocarliei St case, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Anticorruption Center. The persons who will be questioned as witnesses in the legal case over negligence in the process of selling the plot located on Ciocarliei St include former acting mayor of Chisinau Vasile Ursu, the head of the City Hall's Land Division Nicolae Craciun, and the head of the City Hall's Architecture and Urbanism Division Vlad Modarca. In June, Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca made public details about the luxurious quarter where the Voronin family lives. The quarter is located in the perimeter of the streets Ciocarliei and Pietrarilor in Chisinau. According to Chirtoaca, five companies controlled by former President's son Oleg Voronin purchased four hectares of land in that area at very low prices in 1999-2006. Consequently, the municipal budget lost revenues of over 100 million lei.
