The leader of the Communists Party (PCRM) Vladimir Voronin insists on a more active involvement of the society in the formulation of the party's polices. “The voters follow the struggle between the political parties as spectators, but they do not take part in it,” Voronin said at the launch of the Moldovan Project, which is a new initiative by the PCRM based on closer cooperation with the civil society and a new principled approach in politics, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the party's website. “A political struggle is a fight of projects and proposals, not a verbal duel,” Vladimir Voronin said. “The society expects results, not boring platforms.” Vladimir Voronin stressed the necessity of widely engaging the society in preparing the party's policies. “Any political party today should be able to promote not only its own strategy, but also nationwide initiatives that are formulated not by our staffs, but by the society, inside its intellectual circles.” Voronin considers that the Moldovan Project will become a unique development strategy for the PCRM and the society. “This will represent the modernization of the country, a new generation of social technologies that are required in the 21st century,” he said. After the July 29 legislative elections, the Communists Party obtained 48 seats of MP. As 53 MPs formed the Alliance for European Integration, the Communists shifted to the Opposition. Now the PCRM has 43 MPs as five members deflected from it.
