Vladimir Voronin questioned over burning of Declaration of Independence

The former head of state Vladimir Voronin was questioned by the prosecutors about the burning of the Declaration of Independence in April 2009, Info-Prim Neo reports. Voronin said that under the law the original of the Declaration of Independence is kept in the Parliament's building. He stressed he recommended the prosecutors to hold an inquiry into this case. “The Declaration of Independence is kept in a special safe. It is rather strange how this safe burned as it is made of non-flammable material,” Voronin said. The original of the Declaration of Independence was destroyed during the April 2009 protests.
