The chairman of the Party of Communists (PCRM) Vladimir Voronin considers his party could win the future parliamentary elections and return to power. He does not rule out the possibility that he will personally run in a single-member constituency if the party decides so. The politician developed the issue in the talk show “Important” on TVC21 channel, IPN reports.
“As a variant for me, I’m prepared to run in any single-member constituency,” said the Communist leader.
According to Vladimir Voronin, the current election threshold of 6% for the parliamentary elections is not too high for the Party of Communists. The problem resides in the fact that the single-member consistencies could yield persons chosen by only 1,000 voters for Parliament. But the PCRM could win the elections and return to the government.
Referring to the upcoming election campaign and elections, Vladimir Voronin said falsifications will be witnessed in these and the people’s vote will be very expensive. “The falsifications already started. Preparations began and we see particular moves,” he stated.
The Communist leader noted that the Republic of Moldova will only lose with the mixed-member election system introduced this year.
