Vladimir Voronin lied when he told the reporter of a TV channel that he does not own land, Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said at Monday's meeting of the City Hall on June 14, Info-Prim Neo reports. The mayor read documents issued by the state-run company Cadaster, which say that the leader of the Communists Party owns not only the apartment situated on Serghei Lazo St, about which he spoke in the interview, but also a building located on Stefan Luchian St and 3.2 hectares of land in Budesti village. He also leases 7.2 hectares of land in the same village. The lease is valid for 30 years. The contract for the purchase of land in Budesti was signed in April 2009, one week after the protest rallies. According to the mayor, the plots located in Budesti belong to the farm “Voronin Vladimir 'W-2'”. On June 13, Vladimir Voronin stated for a TV channel that he owns only the apartment located on Serghei Lazo St in Chisinau, which he received when he became Minister of the Interior in 1989. He said he did not abuse his authority in order to become rich, while the campaign about the bar placed on Ciocarilei St, where his son and daughter live, is aimed at camouflaging the incapacity of the present government. Mayor of Budesti Nina Costiuc in the local elections of 2003 ran on the list of the Moldova Noastra Alliance Party, while in the 2007 local elections – on the Communist ticket.
