The outgoing President of Moldova Vladimir Voronin had separate meetings with the U.S. Ambassador to Moldova Asif Chaudhry and Russia’s Ambassador in Chisinau Valery Kuzmin, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the presidential press service, the interlocutors discussed issues concerning the political developments in Moldova following the July 29 early elections and the prospects of developing bilateral dialogues at different levels. At the meeting with Asif Chaudhry, Vladimir Voronin spoke about the five principles put recently forward by the ruling party, which could serve as basis for the political dialogue and for a future consensus in the society’s interests. The U.S. Ambassador transmitted the message of the chairman of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee John Kerry, who described the early parliamentary elections in Moldova as a very important event and called to political dialogue in the post-electoral period. During the meeting with Valery Kuzmin, the head of state reiterated the importance of the support provided by Russia to Moldova in different areas, which confirms the strategic and sustainable character of the Moldovan-Russian relations of friendship and cooperation.
