Vladimir Voronin is unsatisfied with “development of the process called European integration”

President of Moldova Vladimir Voronin stated that the Government did not register any results in the fields of visa regime facilitation and the asymmetric trade regime. Voronin told a press conference that the only one who is responsible for the failure is the Government. “It is the first red card to be shown at this chapter”, he mentioned. According to après release of the Presidency, the head of state asserted that, “in a process called European integration, one cannot think and act in a stereotypic way, neither treat the European integration as a process of mechanic incorporation of Moldova into the European Union. At the moment this kind of integration is not appropriate, first of all from the EU’s point of view. And those officials from our Government who considered that it is enough to raise your hand and address nice compliments to Europe in order to realize the European integration, probably confuse the European integration with an anschluss”, the head of state mentioned. Voronin added that the current government will not swerve from the European modernization course. “The European development model has no alternative, and the importance of the EU in the process of regulation of the Transnistrian problem, border control and negotiation process obliges Moldova serve the cause of paneuropean stability with the same sincerity and consistency”, Voronin stated.
