Vladimir Voronin attended CIS informal summit

Moldova’s President Vladimir Voronin took part in the informal meeting of the CIS heads of sate, held in Rostov-on-Don. According to a press release issued by the President’s Office, the meeting addressed prospects for development of cooperation in the CIS space, with emphasis placed on the need for prompting trade and economic relations between the members of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Discussions also referred to issues concerning reformation of the CIS and improvement of the organisation’s activity. Vladimir Voronin attended, alongside other heads of state present at the meeting, a horse race for the Russian President’s Prize, which took place at the hippodrome in Rostov-on-Don.
