The leader of the Communists Party Vladimir Voronin says the West promotes double standards, while the latest visions of the European officials are electoral in character, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In a news conference on Wednesday, Vladimir Voronin said the governing alliance misinforms the population and the promise to obtain a visa-free regime in 2012 is a lie. He stressed that if this happens, he and his party colleagues will applaud the ruling coalition.
At the same time, the former head of state said the European Council on Foreign Relations’ decision to invite the European Commission to work out a plan of action for liberalizing the visa regime is a concrete proposal for Moldova.
“That decision contains more than careful assessments. The opening of the dialogue on the liberalization of the visa regime between Moldova and the EU is welcome, but the decision says the visa regime will be abolished in a distant future. The most important thing is that it says Moldova will carry out the negotiations not with the European Council on Foreign Relations, but with all the EU member states,” Vladimir Voronin said.
The Communist leader also said that the governing alliance during a year adopted practically no law related to the European agenda, while the former administration passed more than 200 such laws.
