The chairman of the PCRM Vladimir Voronin said he is for forming a broad government coalition, but didn’t specify which parliamentary parties should form part of it. He made such statements in the program “Fourth power” on N4 TV channel, IPN reports.

According to Voronin, such a coalition is needed in order to remedy the difficult situation in the country. “We need to form a broad coalition consisting of 67 MPs, for the national interests of the country. Otherwise, we will not succeed,” he said.

In the same connection, Vladimir Voronin noted that the PCRM does not want early elections and will make everything possible to avoid them. “We are not afraid of elections, as some say. But we cannot make this people go again through elections when the conditions in the country are so difficult,” he stated.

The Communist leader said he didn’t like the composition of the new Cabinet, underlining that it was formed based on nepotism principles and that there are people in the country who can manage the Ministry of Economy and there was no need to bring a foreigner for this post.

Voronin said the future Premier must be a determined person with a powerful character, making it clear that he likes Iurie Leanca. “Mister Leanca showed modesty and intelligence, without those anti-communism expressions. We liked the discussions with Mister Leanca, but didn’t tell him that we will vote for him. They didn’t present us the future Cabinet members on time,” he stated.

In the current legislature, the Party of Socialists holds 25 seats, the Liberal Democratic Party – 23 seats, the Party of Communists – 21 seats, the Democratic Party - 19 seats, while the Liberal Party - 13 seats.
