The Romanian People's Party candidate, Vladimir Țurcanu, considers that his permanent concern for the public domain and for society differentiates him from other candidates for the position of mayor of Chișinău. If he and his colleagues win the race for City Hall and the Municipal Council, then they will immediately completely change the way the City Hall works, "because it resembles an institution established in another century, given its reaction time and all the bizarre procedures”. The candidate made the statements at the "Only one out of many: who and why?" public debates, organized by the IPN Press Agency.

Vladimir Țurcanu said that the mayor who will be able to reconfigure and set a correct vector for City Hall will also be able to reconfigure Chișinău: "A person who can put things in order, as mayor, is needed". Additionally, according to the mayoral hopeful, the Municipal Council must cease to be a lobby structure. "It is inadmissible for one million inhabitants to have 51 councilors that behave as if they only represent themselves", said Vladimir Țurcanu.

The candidate said that, as mayor, he would resume on day one discussions with international and Romanian partners. In addition, he said that the residents of Chișinău should know that over the course of the last ten years, several financiers and private companies knocked on City Hall's door, yet were ignored. According to Vladimir Țurcanu, international companies can offer solutions for all the problems that cities face. "Chișinău needs to be removed from isolation, then even the technologization of Chișinău will occur", said Vladimir Țurcanu.

The mayoral hopeful said that the implementation of good practices from Romanian cities is, in his view, unification at the Chișinău municipality level. "These are cities that have developed fast with the help of new technologies. Over 400 towns from Romania and Moldova have associated themselves as twin towns. Romania has a historical and European debt to Moldova". According to Vladimir Țurcanu, many projects that could be carried out in the city did not commence because Romania did not see in Chișinău and in Moldova a secure partner.

In other news, the PPR candidate said that there are many impostors in the unionist movement, people who have nothing to do with the unification and who do not want to achieve it. "The PPR will try to attract well-known unionist personalities in order to build a Romanian nexus, as to represent the unionist citizens", said Vladimir Țurcanu.

The third round of the "Only one out of many: who and why?" electoral debate, which involves the participation of mayoral hopefuls for Chișinău municipality, is the 118th edition of the "Development of political culture in public debates" cycle, supported by the German Foundation Hanns Seidel.
