“United Moldova” Party (PMU) stays in the race for Parliament and will not withdraw to support any other electoral competitor, stated PMU leader Vladimir Turcan at a press conference held in a hospital where he was admitted to after a road accident, Info-Prim Neo reports. The statement came in response to reports, allegedly disseminated by Democrat and Communist campaigners, speculating on Turcan's “critical condition”. “Neither our initial intentions nor our objectives have changed. We will keep on going despite our rivals' efforts”, said Vladimir Turcan, adding that his party received propositions to withdraw and throw its support behind another electoral competitor. Turcanu also said he was upset about the progress of the investigation into the road accident he was involved in on November 20. “There are many questions I would like to ask the Interior Minister. Who sent the road grader to level the scene of the accident, why the driver who caused the accident hasn't been identified yet, how did it happen that the tires burst all of a sudden during the accident?”, said Turcan, who suffered pelvis fractures in the crash.
